CINCINNATI – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team picked up its first win of the 2011 spring season with a 9-0 victory over Centre at Beechmont Racquet Club.
The Norse (2-2) took each match in straight sets, with
Tyler Fraser taking every game in his No. 5 singles victory over Kit Brunner. Fraser is now 3-1 on the season.
Martin Leroy got his first win in dual-match play with a 6-1, 6-2 triumph over Ben Newstadt in the top singles flight.
Pierce Kohls and
Andre Correa each claimed 6-1, 6-0 wins in singles play as well.
NKU returns to action next weekend, facing Wingate on March 6 to kick off the team's annual Spring Break trip to Hilton Head, S.C.
