CEDARVILLE, Ohio - Brad Clement's first home run of the season was a doozy, leading the Northern Kentucky University baseball team to a 10-8 victory over Cedarville in extra innings on Thursday.

With the win, the Norse improved to 10-6 on the season.

Clement, a sophomore transfer from Kansas State, went 2-for-4 with four RBIs to pace a Norse offense that collected 10 hits on the day. His two-out, two-run shot to left on a 1-2 pitch in the 10th inning was the difference in the game.

A two-run triple in the sixth inning by Clement helped the Norse claim a 7-3 lead early in the game, but Cedarville (15-5) came back with a run in the sixth, two more in the seventh and, after an NKU run in eighth, two more runs in the bottom of the eighth to tie things up and send the game into extra innings.

Andy Heston (4-0) picked up the victory in relief, pitching 2 2/3 innings of perfect baseball with a pair of strikeouts.

Bryan Rose and Pat Williams also boasted two-hit performances in the contest.

NKU returns to action on Saturday for a Great Lakes Valley Conference doubleheader against Drury. First pitch from Florence Freedom Field in Florence, Ky. is set for 3:30 p.m.
