HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team posted its fourth shutout of the season with a 9-0 rout of Ohio Dominican Tuesday afternoon at the Yeager Tennis Complex.

With the win, NKU (9-2) has now won eight consecutive dual matches, the longest streak since the 2009 season when they notched nine victories in a row from March 7-31.

NKU, ranked eighth in the latest Midwest Region poll released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), sprinted out to a quick 3-0 lead after the completion of doubles play.

Pierce Kohls and Tyler Fraser's doubles match was a foreshadowing of what the afternoon was going to be like for Ohio Dominican (3-7). The NKU duo posted an unblemished 8-0 result over Greg Dillon and Carlos Perez in the No.-2 flight.

Martin Leroy and Guillaume Berman downed Bernardo Feitosa and Igor Carvalho by an 8-3 final in No.-1 doubles action, while Andre Correa and Ricardo Weaver took out Claude Badowski and Conrad Klank 8-4 in flight No.-3.

Berman, the 15th-ranked singles player in the Midwest Region according to the ITA, took little time in disposing of Badowski (6-1, 6-1) in No.-2 singles play.

Leroy, ranked 6th-individually in the Midwest Region, was on his way to a perfect tally when Feitosa was forced to retire from their match. Leroy was leading 6-0, 3-0 at the point of retirement.

Kohls, Fraser and Weaver were all given a tough match in their respective flights, but pushed through for victories.

Ohio Dominican's best chance to steal a point away from NKU was in No.-3 singles flight action. Carvalho pushed NKU's Correa to the brink of tiebreakers in each set, but it was Correa that downed his fellow Brazilian by a 7-5, 7-5 score.

NKU will be back in action on Friday as they travel to Owensboro, Ky., to take on Brescia University in non-conference action. First serve is scheduled for 3 p.m. ET.
