SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Anthony Meyer's first goal of the season proved to be the winning marker during Northern Kentucky University's 1-0 victory at Drury on Friday night.

Meyer headed in a shot off a corner kick in the 77th minute to give NKU the lead. Anthony Ronca picked up the assist on the winning play.

The top-ranked Norse improved to 7-0 overall, 5-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. NKU also extended its two-year winning streak to 17 with the triumph. NKU has not lost since Oct. 22, 2010, when Missouri-St. Louis pulled out a 2-1 victory against the Norse in St. Louis.

Norse goalie Sanjit Kang collected his third shutout of the season and made two saves. Kang has not allowed a goal this season in nearly 430 minutes as the keeper.

Drury dropped to 5-3 overall, 3-2 in the GLVC. NKU is now 6-3 all-time against the Panthers.

NKU prepares for a battle against nationally ranked Missouri S&T on Sunday at Rolla, Mo. The Miners are ranked No. 17 in this week's NCAA Division II poll.

A year ago, NKU knocked off Missouri S&T three times by one-goal margins. Two of those wins came during the postseason, including a 3-2 victory in the Midwest Region championship game.
