RICHMOND, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team has made a habit of playing top-quality non-conference competition. That tradition continued on Saturday as the Norse dropped a tough test to No. 6 ranked Abilene Christian, 6-3, at Eastern Kentucky University.
NKU (2-1) picked up a point in doubles competition when
Martin Leroy and
Tyler Fraser took an 8-4 decision from Borja Cortes and Guillaume Gesser. The win put Leroy and Fraser at 4-0 on the season.
Fraser also kept his singles record unblemished at 5-0 with a 3-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-2) victory over Michael Morris in the No. 6 flight.
Andre Correa, now 4-0 on the year, took NKU's final point in a 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 win over Gesser at No. 3.
The Norse return to action on Friday at Dayton. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
