No. 44 NKU men's tennis defeats Bellarmine to open GLVC play

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team opened Great Lakes Valley Conference play on a positive note, taking an 8-1 decision from Bellarmine at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex.

After the Norse (9-3, 1-0 GLVC) swept through doubles play, Andre Correa won his seventh consecutive singles match and ran his singles record to 12-1 on the season with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Jimmy Fernandez.  Guillaume Berman, Pierce Kohls, Christopher Angulo and Tyler Fraser also claimed singles wins.

NKU is now ranked No. 44 nationally and No. 4 in the Midwest Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association.

The Norse return to action on March 31 for a key regional match against GLVC foe Southern Indiana.  The Screaming Eagles are ranked No. 36 nationally and No. 3 in the region.  First serve is set for 9 a.m.
