HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team won its third-straight match on Saturday, claiming a 6-3 victory over Great Lakes Valley Conference foe Southern Indiana.

It was depth that pushed the Norse over the edge, as NKU claimed victories in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles as well as at No. 4, No. 5 and No.6 singles.  NKU evened its record at 6-6 overall and improved to 2-1 in GLVC play.

Whitney Thomas and Marta Romeo teamed up to defeat Stephanie Smith and Morgan Coquerille, 8-2, before splitting up to win singles matches against the same two opponents – Thomas over Smith and Romeo over Coquerille.

Jenny Hand and Jillian Sturgeon also claimed singles and doubles victories for the Norse.

The Norse head across the river on Wednesday for a non-conference matchup against crosstown rival Cincinnati before returning to GLVC play on Easter weekend at Saint Joseph's and Indianapolis.
