NKU men's tennis finished the season at 16-7 and made the NCAA Round of 16 for the first time in school history.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The most successful men's tennis season in Northern Kentucky University history ended on Thursday morning as the Norse fell to Abilene Christian, 5-0, in the Round of 16 at the NCAA Division II Championships, played at EP Sawyer State Park.
The Wildcats (21-8) advance to face Lynn in the national quarterfinals. NKU finished its final season in Division II with a record of 16-7. The Norse will reclassify to NCAA Division I and compete as full members of the Atlantic Sun Conference next season.
The match opened with ACU taking all three doubles points, two of them by a single break each, on Wednesday before inclement weather forced a suspension of the match during singles play. When play resumed on Thursday morning, Hans Hach, the No. 6 player in the nation, finished his 7-5, 6-2 victory over
Martin Leroy in the top singles flight and Alfredo Desiati bested
Andre Correa, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 4 to reach the final result.
NKU players were leading in three of the other four singles flights before the team match was ended.
NKU had never advanced past the second round of the NCAA Tournament prior to this season.
