Wright State defeats NKU men's tennis, 5-2

DAYTON, Ohio - The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team suffered defeat in a close match to Wright State, dropping a 5-2 decision on Wednesday afternoon.

Wright State (6-5) took advantage early, taking the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 flights.  Guillaume Berman and Andre Correa were in a pitched battle against WSU's Jamison Clark and Hayden Joblin in the top flight before their match was abandoned with the doubles point secured.

NKU's Jody Maginley and Balint Zsidai succeeded in winning singles matches against WSU's Sean Yun and Mason Bourbon. Christopher Angulo, Correa and Pierce Kohls each battled in three-set faceoffs, with Angulo and Correa each carrying their matches to tiebreaks in the final set.

With the loss, NKU falls to 2-5 on the season.

NKU will host Austin Peay at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex on Saturday, March 9.
