HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's tennis team ended the home portion of its schedule on a happy note, claiming a 6-1 victory over Dayton on Saturday at the Joyce Yeager Tennis Complex.

The Norse (4-16) set the tone early with aggressive doubles play on all three courts. Guillaume Berman and Pierce Kohls dominated on Court 1, 8-1. Andre Correa teamed with Chris Angulo and pulled out a tough 8-6 win on Court 3. Jody Maginley and Balint Zsidai were serving for the match at 7-6 when the doubles point was clinched.

The positive results continued with singles action. Berman pulled out a big win in his last match as a senior on the NKU courts, defeating Dayton's Aiden Koross, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, to even his singles record at 9-9 this spring. Correa also enjoyed his senior day, dispatching Andrew Hanley, 6-4, 6-1, for Correa's 13th singles victory this season. Pierce Kohls bested Josh Malyon in the windy conditions to win his 10th match of the year. Christopher Angulo and Jody Maginley dominated their Dayton (2-17) opponents in quick straight sets to round out the 6-1 victory.

NKU closes out the 2013 season next weekend at the National Invitation Tennis Tournament in Edison, N.J.  The Norse will take on La Salle, St. Francis (N.Y.) and the New Jersey Institute of Technology in the two-day event.
