JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Donnie Dewees finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs to lead the University of North Florida baseball team to a 12-4 victory over Northern Kentucky University in Atlantic Sun Conference action on Sunday afternoon at Harmon Stadium.

For the second day in a row, NKU (6-30 overall, 1-11 in the A-Sun) jumped out to an early lead in the first inning.

Brad Clement sent a two-out single into right field to spark the Norse.  Pat Hyde followed with a single, and a Cody Kuzniczci double allowed Clement and Hyde to score for a 2-0 advantage.  Brett Cisper singled through the right side to extend the lead to 3-0.

North Florida (27-11 overall, 9-3 in the A-Sun) cut into the Norse lead in the third on a sacrifice fly and tied the game before a two-hour weather delay in the bottom of the fourth.

Brett Loeding replaced Blake Bagshaw out of the wait, and Corey Bass hit a three-run home run over the left-field wall to give the Ospreys a 6-3 advantage.  North Florida added four runs in the fifth inning and two more the following frame to stretch its lead to 12-3.

Four consecutive walks to Hyde, Kuzniczci, Cisper and Logan Spurlin scored the final run of the game in the top of the ninth.

Seven Ospreys collected two or more hits en route to collecting 17 hits on the day.  Tyler Marincov scored three runs, while Drew Weeks drove in three.

Michael Renner (6-0) allowed two earned runs on five hits over seven innings of work for North Florida to remain unbeaten on the year.

Hyde finished 2-for-3 and scored three times to lead the NKU offense, which was limited to five hits.

Tim Clark pitched two innings of scoreless relief for the Norse.  He scattered three hits, struck out three batters and did not allow a walk.
