HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team is heading south to Jacksonville, Florida, to take on the Jacksonville Dolphins this weekend. The Norse will be looking for their first Atlantic Sun Conference win of the season as they are 0-1-1 in conference play and 2-6-4 overall this season.

The Norse lead the all-time series against the Dolphins with a 2-0 record. NKU defeated Jacksonville, 2-1, in Jacksonville in 2012 and then won the 2013 meeting in Highland Heights with the same scoreline.
Jacksonville currently sits at 3-8 overall and 0-2 in the A-Sun this season. Both teams will be equally eager to get a conference win as six of the seven teams in the A-Sun will advance to the postseason conference tournament.
"It's a conference game, enough said," said head coach
John Basalyga. "Every conference game is important."
The Dolphins are a young team, comprised of several freshmen and sophomores. Freshman Ejiroghene Mrabure leads the Dolphins in goals scored this season with three, and fellow freshman Rijad Kobiljar leads the team in assists with four.
Sophomore goalkeeper Marc Meny leads the conference in saves this season, and he was named A-Sun Defensive Player of the Week three weeks ago, becoming the first Jacksonville player to take home conference honors this season. The new-look Dolphins are showing a lot of promise under first-year head coach Mauricio Ruiz.
On top of seeking their first A-Sun win of the season, the Norse will also be looking to snap a two-game losing streak. NKU fell to the top team in the A-Sun, FGCU, by a score of 3-1 on Oct. 11 and then fell to Marshall, 2-1, on Oct. 15.
The match is set to kickoff at 7 p.m. at Southern Oak Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 18. Links for live stats and live video broadcast will be available on nkunorse.com.
