Game NotesHIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team will play its final nonconference fixture of the season against Eastern Illinois on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The match is scheduled to kickoff at 7 p.m. at the NKU Soccer Stadium.

The Norse sit 3-8-4 overall this year, and the Panthers are 3-10-1 overall. Eastern Illinois competes in the Summit League, and the Panthers currently have a 1-3-1 conference record. NKU has faced three other Summit League sides this season in IUPUI, IPFW and Western Illinois. The Norse went 0-2-1 against Summit League opponents this year with their only result coming in a 1-1 draw against IPFW.
The only time the Norse and Panthers have met on the pitch was last season at the Dayton Flyer Classic. EIU's Tayron Martin opened up the scoring in the 49th minute, but the Norse battled back at the end of the second half.
Setho Moshoeshoe netted an equalizer for NKU with less than a minute remaining in regulation. He then scored his second goal of the game in the 92nd minute to seal the victory. With the win, head coach
John Basalyga broke John Tobben's record of 137 wins to become the most winningest coach in NKU men's soccer history.
Head coach Mark Hansen is leading the Charleston, Illinois, side this season for the first time in his career. He spent four seasons playing for the Panthers before accepting a role as an assistant coach in 2009. He was named the head coach this past off-season, and he has already improved the number of wins for the program this season from one to three.
The Panthers will head into Highland Heights fresh off a 2-0 victory over IPFW, while the Norse will be looking to rebound after suffering a 2-1 loss to USC Upstate in Spartanburg, South Carolina. NKU's
Nick McGregor scored in the first half against the Spartans, but USC Upstate netted two goals in the final twenty minutes of the contest to claim the win and leapfrog the Norse in the Atlantic Sun Conference standings. NKU sits at 0-3-1 in the A-Sun and will need to win at least one of its final two A-Sun fixtures to qualify for the postseason conference tournament.
It is 'Kick or Treat' night at the NKU Soccer Stadium this Wednesday, and all fans are encouraged to attend the match in their Halloween costumes. Prizes will be given out to the best costumes, and those who show up in their Halloween costumes will receive $1 admission into the match.
