NKU women's tennis falls to IPFW, 6-1

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to IPFW for its first loss of the spring.
 
The Norse dropped the first two doubles matches of the evening, but finished strong as the pair of Maria Voscekova and Danielle Donahue defeated IPFW's Marcy Huck and Mayu Sato, 6-3.
 
NKU's Sierra Nellesen and Marta Romeo both fell to their opponents in two sets. Nicole Soutar, Yasmine Xantos, and Voscekova all took their matches thrilling conclusions, but IPFW prevailed, winning each in three sets.
 
Donahue gave the Norse their lone point on the evening, defeating IPFW's Ella Norgren in straight sets, 7-6 (8-6), 7-5.
 
The NKU women now sit at 3-1 and turn their attention to a road contest against the Flyers of Dayton on Feb. 28.
