HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University softball team concludes its spring break road trip on Tuesday with a non-conference doubleheader at Florida A&M.  First pitch for the twin bill is set for noon.

NKU is looking to snap a nine-game losing streak after being swept in a three-game weekend series by Jacksonville to open Atlantic Sun Conference play.  The Norse are now 1-13 overall and 0-3 in the A-Sun.

Florida A&M enters the weekend with a record of 5-12 after sweeping four games from the Tiny Laster HBCU Classic in Irondale, Ala.  The Rattlers picked up shutouts over Alabama A&M and Mississippi Valley State and won a 12-11 shootout against Alabama State.

Tuesday will mark the first ever meeting between NKU and Florida A&M.  The Norse have never lost to a MEAC school, defeating North Carolina Central and Norfolk State last season.

DAVIS DRIVES THEM IN: Dee Dee Davis is getting the job done with runners on base, leading the Norse with 10 RBIs so far this season.  In the weekend series, Davis drove in three of the four runs the Norse scored, including herself on a two-run home run.  On the year, Davis is batting .350 with runners on base, including four extra-base hits in that situation.

HITTING BEHIND THE PLATE: NKU's catchers combined to bat .500 last weekend, with Dani Devlin going 2-for-4 on the weekend and Kari Lang going 1-for-2.  The performance helped Devlin return to the top of the batting chart for the team with a .316 average.

STARTING A NEW STREAK: KC Straley saw her on-base streak snapped at 11 games after an 0-for-3 game in the series finale at Jacksonville.  Over the stretch, Straley hit .276, picking up eight hits and drawing eight walks while scoring eight runs and stealing five bases.
