MARIETTA, Ga. – The Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team dropped its Atlantic Sun Conference opener to Kennesaw State University on Friday, losing by a score of 7-0.
NKU's lone match win came in the No. 2 doubles flight, as
Nicole Soutar and
Marta Romeo teamed to defeat Tamara Plocher and Gabriela Bueno, 8-5. The win pushed the pair to 6-7 on the season and snapped a four-match losing streak for the pair.
NKU, now 5-4 overall and 0-1 in A-Sun play, continues its four-match whirlwind tour on Saturday with a conference clash against Mercer. The weekend concludes on Sunday with a non-conference tilt at Alabama State.
