NKU posts 7-3 win over Morehead State

added two RBIs for NKU, which improved to 6-16 overall. Kellogg's two-run double in the seventh inning extended the Norse lead to 7-3. Cody Kuzniczci went 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored, and teammate Zac Asman also added two hits.
 
Aric Harris scattered six hits in six innings of work to notch the win. Harris allowed three runs and also struck out three batters. Drew Campbell pitched two perfect innings in relief and collected five strikeouts. Jake Shaw closed the door on Morehead State in the ninth inning and picked up a strikeout.
 
Bohlen gave NKU a 2-0 lead in the second inning with a two-run single. Morehead State scored a run in the fourth and plated a pair in the fifth to gain a 3-2 advantage. The Norse responded with two runs in the sixth, the first when Morehead State reliever Noah Smallwood hit Kyle Colletta with the bases loaded to tie the score at 3-all. Bohlen later drove in the go-ahead run with an RBI ground out.
 
Kuzniczci's run-scoring double in the seventh extended the NKU lead to 5-3, and Kellogg followed with his two-run double that gave the Norse insurance.
 
It marked the second straight year that NKU defeated Morehead State, which dropped to 11-13 overall this season. The Eagles are now 17-7 all-time against NKU.
 
NKU resumes Atlantic Sun Conference play Friday at 7:05 p.m. in the opener of a three-game series at East Tennessee State in Johnson City, Tenn. The Norse are 1-2 in Atlantic Sun Conference action.
