NKU women's tennis falls to Wright State, 6-1

CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- Maria Voscekova picked up wins in both singles and doubles action to put a bright spot on a 6-1 loss for the Northern Kentucky University women's tennis team against Wright State on Thursday.
 
NKU's lone victory in doubles play came in the No. 1 flight, as the duo of Danielle Donahue and Maria Voscekova defeated Vanessa Madrigal and Tori Turner, 8-3. Wright State would take the other two matches to claim the doubles point.
 
Voscekova also gave NKU its only win in singles competition, Voscekova again defeated Madrigal in straight sets, 6-1, 6-3, in the top flight. The win improved Voscekova's singles record to 13-7 on the season and snapped a two-match slide for the senior.
 
The Norse now sit at 5-9 overall. Their next match will be in Cincinnati in a road matchup against the Bearcats of the University of Cincinnati on Tuesday, April 1.
