JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Karson Tuck went 2-for- 4 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs to lead the Jacksonville University softball team to a 7-1 victory over Northern Kentucky University to complete the series sweep in Atlantic Sun Conference play on Sunday afternoon.

NKU (1-13, 0-3 A-Sun) managed four hits off Jacksonville pitching, with Dee Dee Davis driving in NKU's only run with an RBI single in the sixth inning to drive in Dana Jarboe, who led off the frame with a single of her own.  Dani Devlin and Taylor Zuberer also picked up singles for the Norse.  KC Straley saw her 11-game on-base streak come to an end with an 0-for-3 game.

In the circle, the win went to Jacksonville's Jessi Walker (2-1), who allowed one run on three hits while picking up four strikeouts in 5.1 innings of work.  Paige McQueen took the loss for the Norse, falling to 1-4 on the year after allowing five runs, three of which were earned, in 1.1 innings.

Codi Kelly opened the scoring for Jacksonville in the first inning, roping a single up the middle to score Victoria Brown, who reached on a single to open the inning.  The Dolphins broke the game open in the second inning, taking advantage of two NKU errors to plate four runs, including an RBI double from Stephanie Frances and a two-run two-bagger by Tuck.

The Dolphins got two more runs in the fourth inning on base hits from Tuck and Emily Sanchez to stretch out to a 7-0 lead before the run-scoring play for the Norse in the sixth.

The Norse will look to snap their nine-game losing streak on Tuesday in non-conference action at Florida A&M.  First pitch for the twin bill is set for noon.  Live stats will be available at nkunorse.com.
