The result was never in doubt, as the Spartans sent 12 batter to the plate in the first inning, opening the game with eight consecutive base hits to plate seven runs. Upstate added nine more runs in the second inning.
 
Anna Miller tossed her fifth-career no-hitter in Game 2, allowing just two base runners in a 12-0 victory. Miller struck out 12 Norse batters, including eight in a row, to cruise to a 14-3 record.
 
Landers added another three hits in the late game while Shellie Robinson, Maddison Kieffer and Erin Schattle all homered for the Spartans, who punched their ticket to the A-Sun Tournament with the sweep.
 
Kelley Benhase provided a bright moment for the Norse, throwing 2.1 innings of hitless relief for the Norse in Game 2.
 
NKU will look to salvage a win when the teams conclude their three-game series on Sunday.  First pitch from the Frank Ignatius Grein Softball Field is set for noon.
