CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – Pierce Kohls played, and won, his final collegiate tennis match on Tuesday, defeating Xavier's Mesa Mei in comeback fashion as Northern Kentucky University lost the team event, 5-2.

After Mei swept the first set, 6-0, Kohls took the second set, 6-4, to level the match before coming away with a 7-5 third set win. The win gave Kohls his eighth singles win of the year and ended his career with a 47-41 singles mark.

Mate Virag also claimed his eighth win of the season, winning the top-flight singles match against Jimmy Roebker, 1-6, 6-2, 6-1, to take NKU's other point in the match.

In doubles play, Virag and Kohls had a 6-5 lead over Mei and Roebker in the top flight, but their match was abandoned when Xavier (21-5) won the other two flights to claim the doubles point.

Jody Maginley, who earlier in the day had been honored as a part of the Atlantic Sun Conference Academic All-Conference team, fell in his singles match to Zach Mueck, 6-2, 6-0, at the No. 3 flight.

With the loss, NKU finished the season with a 4-15 record.  The Norse women's team concludes its season on Saturday with matches against Walsh and Wisconsin-Green Bay.
