NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Ashley Anderson's no-hitter opened a dominating day for the Lipscomb University softball team, which took a pair of wins from Northern Kentucky University in Atlantic Sun Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

Anderson's no-no was a five-inning effort in a 10-0 victory in Game 1. The freshman struck out five and did not surrender a walk, allowing just two base runners on fielding errors. Bridgette Begle's grand slam capped off a seven-run fourth inning for the Lady Bisons, which improved to 38-11 overall and 17-8 A-Sun.

Michelle Carson had a pair of hits for NKU in the nightcap, but again the Norse were unable to dent the plate in a 6-0 loss. Tanner Sanders spun a five-hit shutout to improve to 11-4 on the year, striking out six. Brianne Welch hit an RBI double and stole home to account for the scoring in the second inning.

The Lady Bisons added four runs in the fourth inning, keyed by Brittany Elmore's two-run single. Begle had another strong game, going 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored.

Katelyn Roy, Natalie Papi and Alexis Van Horn added hits for the Norse. Kelley Benhase (0-5) went the distance in the loss, giving up five earned runs on five hits.

With the loss, NKU is now 4-40 overall and 1-21 in A-Sun play on the year.  The teams will wrap up their three-game series on Sunday with a single game. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. Eastern. Live stats and video links are available at nkunorse.com.
