scored on a wild pitch.

The Norse brought the potential tying run to the plate with two outs, but EKU reliever Anthony Bazzani induced pinch-hitter Anthony Vagnier to ground out to end the threat.

EKU (15-18) built a 5-1 lead after six innings, but NKU scored four times in the bottom of the seventh to even the score at 5-all. Ryan LeFevers collected an RBI triple in the seventh, and Logan Spurlin hit a two-run double to cut the EKU lead to 5-4. Cody Kuzniczci's sacrifice fly later in the inning evened the score.

Bryan Solomon hit a three-run homer for EKU, which avenged a 13-11 loss to NKU earlier this season at Richmond, Ky. The Colonels now hold a 16-11-1 lead in the all-time series with the Norse.

Zac Asman scored two runs for NKU, which is 10-20 overall. Spurlin – who now has a 15-game hitting streak - has reached base in every game he has appeared in this season and 32 consecutive contests dating back to last year. NKU's Cole Bauml was 2-for-4.

The Norse resume Atlantic Sun Conference play Friday at 3 p.m. when South Carolina Upstate visits the Bill Aker Baseball Complex for the start of a three-game series. NKU and USC Upstate will also play single games Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon.
