Ryan LeFevers was 2-for-4, scored a run and had an RBI.

NKU jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning with an unearned run, but FGCU scored three times in the third to take a 3-1 advantage. The Norse used run-scoring doubles from LeFevers and Bauml to even the score at 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth, and NKU gained a 4-3 lead in the fifth on
David Head's RBI single.

FGCU plated three runs in the top of the sixth to take a 6-4 advantage. Rivera's two-run homer highlighted the inning for the Eagles. Bauml responded with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth to cut the FGCU lead to 6-5, but the Eagles added single runs in the seventh and ninth to close out the scoring.

FGCU starter Michael Murray, the nation's leader in wins, upped his record to 11-0 by going six innings. Murray allowed nine hits and four earned runs. He also finished with six strikeouts and walked two batters.

Kyle Colletta went five innings and allowed five earned runs. Colletta struck out two and walked one batter.

NKU and FGCU continue the three-game series at 1 p.m. Saturday. The two teams conclude the series at noon Sunday.
