NKU gives Asalon 600th win, 12-6 over Butler

hit his first career homer and scored three times as NKU gave head coach Todd Asalon his 600th career victory. Asalon now has 456 wins at NKU in 14 seasons, and he collected 144 victories in six years at Thomas More College.

In addition, Asalon led NKU to the NCAA Division II Tournament eight times and was named Great Lakes Valley Conference Coach of the Year three times.
 
Zac Asman and Logan Spurlin each drove in two runs for the Norse, who improved to 14-31. Asman's two-run double in the fifth inning extended NKU's lead to 11-3. The Norse plated five runs in the fifth to take control of the game.
 
Bauml has now driven in 10 runs during the past two games. Ryan LeFevers was 2-for-5 and scored a pair of runs. NKU collected 15 hits and took advantage of five Butler errors.
 
Kyle Colletta pitched eight innings and allowed just one earned run to pick up the victory. Colletta also struck out five batters.
 
NKU is now 3-5 all-time against Butler. The Bulldogs dropped to 17-27 this season.
 
NKU begins a three-game series against Kennesaw State at 3 p.m. Friday at the Bill Aker Baseball Complex.
