Spurlin and Ryan LeFevers both went 2-for-4 to pace the NKU offense. Spurlin and Cole Bauml each hit doubles for the Norse, who are 14-32 overall, 6-16 in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
 
Cody Cooper (3-8) registered the complete game on the mound for NKU. He struck out four batters and issued three walks.
 
NKU and Kennesaw State will continue the three-game series Saturday at 1 p.m. Prior to Saturday's game, NKU will honor its only senior, Zac Asman.
 
The two teams wrap up the series at noon Sunday.
