Trey Ganns went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in as the Northern Kentucky University baseball team dropped a 4-3 decision to Stetson University in Atlantic Sun Conference action from Melching Field on Saturday.

Ganns led three players collecting two-hit games for NKU, which fell to 11-23 overall and 0-8 in the Atlantic Sun, recorded one doubled and scored once.
Logan Spurlin finished 2-for-4 with a double, while
David Head went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Norse, who finished with nine hits and stranded nine base runners.

Evan Korson (2-5) took the loss for the Norse after allowing four runs on nine hits with three strikeouts and three walks in 6.1 innings on the mound.

After an RBI double from Patrick Mazeika scored Cory Reid in the bottom of the third to put Stetson on the scoreboard, NKU answered with a pair of runs of its own to take the lead in the fourth.

Cody Kuzniczci sparked the Norse offense with a one-out double to right-center field, and he scored on a Ganns single through the left side. Spurlin followed with a double down the left-field line to send Ganns to third. Head then reach on a fielder's choice, which saw Spurlin out at third, as Ganns came home for a 2-1 NKU advantage.

The Hatters regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth, plating three runs on three hits and one error to take a 4-2 lead, before the Norse cut their deficit to one (4-3) on an RBI double by Ganns, which scored Kuzniczci who reached on a throwing error by shortstop Tyler Bocock, in the top of the eighth.

Anthony Vagnier recorded a one-out single to center field in the ninth, but he was left stranded as Stetson held on for the win.

Mazeika and Will Mackenzie each finished 2-for-3 to lead the way for Stetson, which improved to 21-19 on the year and 6-2 in the conference, with Mazeika driving in two runs for the second straight day. Josh Powers posted a 2-for-4 effort, scoring once and batting in a run for the Hatters, who finished with nine hits and left five runners on base.

Brooks Wilson (8-3) earned the victory, giving up two runs on seven hits with five strikeouts in six innings of work. Warmoth surrendered just one hit and struck out three batters in 1.1 innings of relief for his sixth save of the season.
