HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University softball team closed the home half of the 2016 schedule with an 8-1 loss to Horizon League foe Green Bay.
Green Bay (18-29, 9-8 Horizon) scored two runs each in the second and third innings to take a lead that they would not relinquish before adding one in the sixth and two more in the seventh.
In the bottom of the sixth inning,
Dani Devlin led off by reaching on a throwing error and advanced to third base on a wild pitch.
Jordan Harbacek then singled through the right side to score Devlin as NKU (12-38, 4-16 Horizon) took a run back from Green Bay.
Jordan Harbacek (8-13) took the loss in the start. Katie Rossman (7-10) got the win after striking out one in 4.2 innings pitched.
The Norse will close out the 2016 campaign next weekend with a three-game series at Youngstown State.
