HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Northern Kentucky University men's soccer team fell to Marshall on the road on Wednesday evening, 2-1. The Norse got on the board in the 75th minute on an own goal to cut Marshall's lead in half, but could not find the equalizer at Hoops Family Field.
With the loss, NKU slips to 0-7-1 while Marshall improves to 4-4-0.
Between the Posts
- Redshirt freshman Christian Carey earned his sixth start in goal and posted four saves in 72:29 minutes played.
- Carey helped the Norse defend six corner kicks without allowing a goal.
- Freshman Dezmond Thompson made his first collegiate appearance, stepping into the game at the 73rd-minute mark. Thompson picked up one save, coming in the 90th minute.

- NKU and Marshall ended the game tied at nine shot attempts apiece while the Thundering Herd claimed a slim 7-6 edge in shots on goal.
- Four Norse including Jacob Cunningham, Bryce Day, Monheimer and Qualah ended the game tied with one shot on goal apiece as NKU's nine shots were split among eight different players.
