ATHENS, Ga. – Northern Kentucky softball dropped its second game against Louisiana-Monroe to cap off action at the Georgia Classic. All seven runs of the contest were scored in the first inning, with ULM winning 6-1. NKU drops to 0-5 on the season, while the Warhawks advance to 7-4.
At the Plate
- Senior catcher Dani Devlin drove in NKU's lone run of the day, blasting the team's first home run of the season with two outs at the top of the first.
- Junior third baseman Sydney Ferrante and freshman centerfielder Kailey Rossiter also registered hits for the Norse, with Ferrante posting a sixth-inning single while Rossiter got the first hit of her NKU career with a double in the seventh.
In the Circle
- Senior Charlie Nolen pitched 6.0 innings for the Norse, with a pair of strikeouts while surrendering nine hits. Nolen's career record drops to 4-17 with the setback.
Key Moments
- Devlin scored NKU's lone run with a homer in the top of the first, marking the 10th time in her career that the senior had a home run.
- The Warhawks scored all six of their runs in the bottom of the first, ending with a two-run home run by ULM's designated hitter, Jessie Watts.
