CONWAY, S.C. – Northern Kentucky softball rallied to push extra innings against Coastal Carolina, which swept the field at NKU's most recent tournament outing at the Coastal Carolina Invitational, but fell just shy of its second win of the season after a walk-off home run gave CCU a 2-1 eight-inning victory. With the loss, NKU dips to 1-10 on the season while the Chanticleers advance to 18-3.

- Junior Ashlynn Roberts made the start for the Norse, pitching four innings and allowing five hits and one run. Roberts had a career day in strikeouts, besting her previous personal best with five while also not allowing any walks.
- Freshman Taylor Ginther entered the contest to toss the remaining 3.2 innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out one batter.
Key Moments
- Sydney Ferrante had a leadoff single through the left side to get the game started, and was sent home by a Kate Bartolovich single to right field to establish the 1-0 lead.
- The Chanticleers equalized the score, 1-1, when a double down the left field line sent a CCU player across the plate.
- The Norse were retired in order in every inning leading up to the eighth, when Stalter singled down the left line but was unable to proceed any further as the half inning came to a close.
- The Chanticleers were able to seal the game with a walk-off home run with two outs, giving CCU the 2-1 victory.

- Coastal Carolina now holds a 2-0 mark in the all-time series.
- Ferrante extended her hitting and reached base streak to nine games, which is the longest hitting streak on the team by seven games and the longest reached base streak by four contests.
- Senior utility Paige McQueen extended her reached base streak to five games, the second-longest on the squad.
