MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Northern Kentucky men's soccer team had its eight-match unbeaten streak snapped on Saturday evening in a 2-0 loss to Milwaukee. The Norse are now 6-2-3 overall and 2-1-1 in the Horizon League. The Panthers improve to 5-4-2 and 1-3-0 in the League.
"We've been on a very good run recently, and unfortunately, tonight that came to an end," said NKU head coach
Stu Riddle. "We can't sit here and make excuses or point fingers. We have to accept that tonight's performance wasn't up to par and get a big response next weekend."

- Barkei faced 16 shots and made four saves. His record is now 6-2-3.
FIRST HALF SUMMARY
- Abdul Kooistra had the first shot of the match for NKU. His attempt from the left side went just to the right of the net.
- Barkei made his first save of the match in the 19th minute. A long shot by Milwaukee's Jaime Colin was easily caught by Barkei.
- A few moments later, Tom Suchecki fired a shot, and it was blocked out of bounds for a Norse corner kick.
- Milwaukee took a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute. Evan Conway tapped in a shot to the left side of the net from close range. The goal was assisted by Reid Stevenson and Francesco Saporito.
- In the 36th and 37th minutes, Barkei made two easy saves to keep Milwaukee from scoring.
- Liam Evans nearly scored the equalizer in the 38th minute, but his volley attempt was punched over the net by the Milwaukee goalkeeper for a corner kick.
- The Panthers had an 8-4 advantage in shots in the period.
- NKU had just one shot on goal during the first half.
SECOND HALF SUMMARY
- In the 50th minute, Campbell Morris put a hard shot on the ground, but it was blocked and cleared by the Milwaukee defense.
- Saporito fired a shot for Milwaukee in the 59th minute, but his attempt went wide left.
- Rikard Lindqvist took a free kick in the 69th minute. His attempt was on frame, but the Milwaukee goalkeeper made the save.
- Henrik Fennefoss doubled the lead for Milwaukee in the 73rd minute. A ball played into the box near the sideline was headed in by Fennefoss to the near post to give the Panthers a 2-0 advantage.
- Fennefoss had another header in the 75th minute, but the attempt was saved by Barkei.
- Lindqvist had one more shot attempt in the 78th minute. However, the Panther defense was able to block it.
MATCH NOTES
- Milwaukee had 16 shots in the match, compared to seven for the Norse.
- NKU entered the match with a 5-0-3 record in the past eight contests.
