Final regular-season road trip ahead for @NKUNorseTennis

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky tennis makes its final road trip of the regular season this weekend when both the men's and women's teams travel to Youngstown State and Cleveland State on Saturday, April 14, and Sunday, April 15, respectively. First serve for the women will be 2 p.m. at Youngstown State and 10 a.m. at Cleveland State, while the men will face the Penguins at 6 p.m. and the Vikings at 2 p.m.
 
The Norse women are riding a three-match winning streak after defeating Green Bay and Milwaukee last weekend before a midweek victory at Dayton, 4-2. Margita Sunjic extended her winning streak at No. 1 singles to eight matches, and five in-a-row in straight sets. She has also won three-straight doubles matches with Maria Koo in the top flight. Koo is on a three-match winning streak in No. 2 singles, as is Hannah Watton in the No. 5 spot. The men had a hard-fought setback against Green Bay in their last outing, with five extended sets in singles action and two in doubles. Felipe Hidalgo was involved in both points for the Norse, winning in the No. 5 spot in straight sets after helping clinch the doubles point in a come-from-behind victory with Jorge Rodriguez Agudo in No. 2 doubles.
 
YSU's women sit atop the Horizon League with an unblemished 5-0 record, most recently taking a 5-2 win over Oakland before a 6-1 victory over Detroit Mercy. Noelly Longi Nsimba and Imaan Hassim are both undefeated in League play, with Longi Nsimba topping the Penguins' lineup. The men have gone 1-2 against Horizon opponents, falling by a 6-1 count to both Cleveland State and Detroit Mercy after a 4-3 win over Green Bay. Joao Garretto and Yossi Dahan have seen the most success in League play, with both holding a 2-1 record out of the No. 2 and 5 spots, respectively.
 
Cleveland State's women have also had a successful start to the League slate with a 4-1 record, falling only to Youngstown State in a 7-0 blanking. Isabella Spindler has been successful at the No. 1 singles spot with a 4-1 record in League play, along with Aleksandra Golawska in the No. 3 spot and Jana Schober in the No. 4 spot. The Viking men sit at 2-1 in the League, winning 6-1 over Green Bay and YSU before a 4-3 setback against Detroit Mercy. Nico Mostardi has been making a case to be the League's top player, holding a 10-3 overall record and a 2-1 mark in League play. Luke Phillips, Benjamin Slade and Matthew Terry are all undefeated against League opponents.
