Miami (Ohio) defeats @NKUNorseBSB in midweek matchup

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University baseball team fell to Miami (Ohio) on Wednesday by a final score of 16-1. NKU drops to 1-12 on the year. Miami improves to 12-3.

ON THE MOUND
  • Proctor Mercer (L, 0-1) started the game and went three innings, allowing six hits and two walks while striking out two batters.
  • Jake Dennis faced one batter in the fourth inning.
  • Kaleb Meeks pitched a scoreless frame, striking out three batters in the process.
  • Noah Richardson went on to the mound for a third of an inning, giving up two walks.
  • Gunnar Barnard pitched 2.2 innings and struck out three batters while allowing two walks and three hits.
  • Tyler Murphy pitched the final two innings, giving up four hits and four walks.
 
KEY MOMENTS
  • Miami took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first. Landon Stephens hit an RBI double to bring home Kyle Winkler, and Stephens scored on a wild pitch.
