CLEVELAND – The Northern Kentucky men's soccer team was defeated by Cleveland State Saturday night 3-0, on the road. NKU falls to 6-8 overall and 4-4 in the Horizon League. The Vikings improve to 8-5 on the year and 7-1 in conference.

Scoring Summary
· The Vikings got on the board first with a goal in the 40' as Saahb Kular netted his shot with the assist from Jannis Schmidt.
· Cleveland State added an insurance goal in the 52' with Bojan Kolevski finding the back of the goal as Schmidt provided yet another assist.
· CSU scored again in the 90' as Thomas M'Barek navigated through the NKU defense for the goal.

Daniel Bermingham (6-7-0) played the full 90 for the Norse as he made five saves and faced 19 total shots.
· Omeed Naeemy (8-5) was in goal for the Vikings tonight as he totaled two saves and faced eight shots. This was Naeemy's third shutout of the season as well.

Ben Hegge recorded the shot on goal in the 7' but the shot was saved by Omeed.
· CSU looked to test Bermingham in the 11' with a shot on goal that was ultimately saved by the NKU goalkeeper.
· The Vikings had another look on goal in the 21' with a shot aimed low that sav Bermingham making a great save.

Roberto Burlew made an attempt at the Cleveland State goal in the 24'.

· The Norse were issued another yellow card in the 38' as
Wes Collins was booked.
· Cleveland State scored the first goal of the match in the 40' as Kular found the back of the net.
· CSU's Pablo Kawecki was issued a yellow card in the 43'.

Deryn Armstrong finished the half with a shot in the 44' that missed right.
· Hegge looked to spark the NKU offense in the beginning of the second half in the 48' as he aimed low, but it was scooped up by Omeed.
· The Vikings scored again in the 52' with Kolevski's strike and was assisted by Schmidt.
· Bufton was issued a yellow card in the 56'.
· Hegge tried once again at the CSU goal in the 68' but could not find the back of the goal.
· The Vikings were issued another yellow card in the 71' as Josh Davis was booked.

· Butfon was sent off in the 84', earning the red card.
· NKU saw its final shot in the 89' from Jørgensen that was saved by the Viking keeper.
· Cleveland State added a third goal in the 90' of this match with M'Barek scoring off the assist from Schmidt.
Norse Notes
· The Vikings out-shot the Norse 19-8 overall tonight.
· Cleveland State posted nine shots on goal as well compared to NKU's three.
· Northern Kentucky was issued four yellow cards including one red, compared to CSU being issued two yellows in the match.
· This was an intense competition between these two programs as NKU was called for 20 overall fouls and Cleveland State for 15.
