HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. –
Madisyn Eads worked all 14 innings for Northern Kentucky and led the Norse to a doubleheader sweep of IUPUI on Sunday. NKU improves to 12-22 on the season and 11-15 in the Horizon League. The Jags dip to 11-25 overall and 9-18 in league play.
Eads finished with a 2-0 mark and 1.00 ERA after allowing just two runs while pitching complete games in both ends of Sunday's doubleheader. She held IUPUI to nine hits and three walks, while collecting eight strikeouts. Including Friday's win, Eads went 3-0 against IUPUI in the four-game set. She allowed three runs and registered 16 strikeouts compared to five walks.
Game 1: NKU 7, IUPUI 2
At the Plate
- McKeough's two knocks came via a double and her team-high-tying seventh home run of the season. She had a team-best three RBI in the game.
- Whitmer doubled and drove in two runs, while Mulder tripled for one of her hits.
- Frazier scored twice and drove in one run.
In the Circle
- Starting for NKU was freshman Eads, who went the distance for her second win of the weekend. She improves to 3-3 on the season after giving up a pair of runs on five hits, while fanning five Jaguars and issuing a single free pass.
- Bailey Johnson got the call for IUPUI. After working a scoreless first where she allowed a solo walk, Johnson was dinged up in the second and allowed three runs without registering an out.
- Johnson was charged with four runs, but only three earned, on three hits and a walk.
- Lexi Lucas entered in relief, tossing the final 5.0 innings. She allowed three runs on nine hits and a walk.
Scoring Summary
- NKU broke into the scoring column with a crooked number in the second, pouring in five runs on five hits.
- Mulder tripled to open the frame and was driven in on Jenkins' single to center.
- After O'Hair reached on an error, Whitmer clubbed a two-RBI double to left to lift Northern Kentucky's lead to 3-0.
- Whitmer scored on Frazier's single down the left field line, and then Frazier beat the tag at home when McKeough doubled to left.
- IUPUI got one back in the third on extra-base hits from Maicey Bedrick (double) and Morgan Gilbert (triple).
- Victoria Sivert's solo homer to left brought the Jaguars within three, 5-2, in the sixth.
- NKU struck for two runs in the home half of the sixth to push back in front, 7-2. Frazier led off with a single and was driven in on McKeough's bomb to left center.

At the Plate
- Lawson paced NKU with a two-hit effort in the game.
- McKeough, Mulder and Jenkins also registered hits, with Mulder delivering the game-winning RBI.
In the Circle
- Eads earned the start in game two as well and responded with a complete game, four-hit shutout performance.
- Eads registered three strikeouts and issued just two free passes while improving to 4-3 on the season.
- Jennah Speth took the loss for IUPUI, surrendering just one run on five hits. She struck out five Norse and did not walk a batter.
Scoring Summary
- The first threat of the game came via a one-out double from IUPUI's Sivert in the third inning, but Eads snuffed out the threat.
- NKU put a runner in scoring position with one-out in its half of the third, but were unable to plate the run.
- Back-to-back one-out singles from Sivert and Gilbert had the Jags threatening again in the fifth, but Eads worked out of the jam getting a ground out and strike out.
- The Norse broke through in the home half of the sixth. With two outs, McKeough and Lawson registered consecutive singles. Mulder then drove in the winning run on a ball smacked to right center.
