SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Six days after thumping South Carolina State in a 21-1, five-inning game in the Blue Hose Invitational, Northern Kentucky's softball team dealt the Bulldogs another loss. This time it was a 4-2 Norse victory in the Upstate Classic at Cyrill Stadium.

NKU improved to 5-1 with the triumph Friday while South Carolina State dropped to 0-5.

  • Jordan Jenkins hit the other home run in the ensuing at-bat. Jenkins went 1-for-1 with an RBI on the day. She started the game with a sac bunt that advanced Biddle to second, setting the stage for NKU's first run.

  • After a leadoff walk in the bottom of the second inning, Tatum Biddle advanced to second on a Jordan Jenkins' sac bunt and scored the first run via Trinity Robertson's double to right center.
  •  The Norse tacked on a second run in the bottom of the third. Ella LeMonier reached on a fielder's choice, stole second and scored on Jenna O'Hair's single down the right field line.
  • DeAs Lowther's home run to right center in the top of the fourth put the Bulldogs on the board but NKU responded with back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the sixth. Tatum Biddle and Jordan Jenkins both homered through the right side to make it 4-1.
  • Although Lowther homered again in the top of the seventh, the Norse denied the team from inching closer.
