CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's tennis program picked up their first Horizon League win of the season by defeating the UIC Flames 4-3 Sunday afternoon. The Norse improve to 6-4 overall this season and are currently 1-1 in conference play. The Flames drop to 1-13 on the year, with a 0-1 record in the Horizon League. 

Match Notables

• In doubles action, the duo of Trevor Ball and Brandon Ponomarew picked up the win over Ammar Wazier and Kevin Kruzel by a score of 6-3. The Norse won the overall doubles point after Santiago Casamayor and Emilien Burnel took down Anthony Tacconi and Dos Santos 6-4. 
• The Norse saw their first singles win come from Tom Berry who went on to defeat Anthony Nguyen 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. Ponomarew followed suit with a singles win of his own, downing Tacconi by a score of 6-4, 7-6 (4).
• NKU clinched after a singles win from Trevor Ball who battled against Kruzel to earn the victory by a score of 7-6 (1), 2-6, 7-5 overall.
