ANN ARBOR, Mich. – The Northern Kentucky men's tennis (6-11) program taken down by No. 4 seeded UIC (5-18) in the Horizon League Quarterfinals Friday afternoon by a final score of 4-1.
Match Notables
- The Norse got off to a solid start in doubles action as the duo of Jorge Rodriguez and Santiago Casamayor dominated the Flames team of Kruzel and Tacconi by a final score of 6-1. Rodriguez and Casamayor when paired together improve their doubles record to 4-2 this season.
- Northern Kentucky went on to clinch the doubles point as Emilien Burnel and Tom Berry took down Strandberg and Iermolov at 7-5 overall to give the Norse any early match lead. Burnel and Berry are now 2-1 as a duo this year.
- Unfortunately the Flames went on to win four straight singles matches to take the overall match at 4-1 and advance to the next round of the Horizon League Championships.
