HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky Athletics Communications department has announced it is looking for student interns for the 2022-23 academic year to offer NKU students the opportunity to work hands-on with a NCAA Division I program.
The department is currently looking for students who are interested in interning in creative video, photography, gameday administration, graphic design and/or social media.
"Northern Kentucky University is filled with talented students in all areas, and with its great academic offerings in place, we are creating a way for students to break into the athletic communication field," Assistant AD for Athletics Communications
Matthew Schaefer said. "As a former student intern myself, this is a valuable program we are looking to establish at NKU, where students start with us, take as much information and learning experience that they can, and move onto professional opportunities in the field following graduation."
The new internship program in athletic communications will offer students practical experience in the sports industry for students looking to break into the field. Interns will receive an overview of NCAA Division I athletic communications through a variety of different opportunities that will provide extensive hands-on experience. The internships are extremely valuable for students interested in working in sports.
In addition to increasing knowledge of the running of a NCAA DI Athletic Communications office, students will have the opportunity to receive course/internship credit, resume review and interview consultation and Adidas gameday and office gear.
If interested in becoming a part of a fun, fast-paced and valuable professional experience, please e-mail
schaeferm10@nku.edu with your resume and/or creative portfolio for more information. The application process will be rolling and will begin immediately.
