Norse Baseball Clips Colonels in Road Victory

RICHMOND, KY. – The Northern Kentucky Baseball program kept their momentum rolling on the road as the Norse came from behind to take down the Colonels of Eastern Kentucky in Richmond by a final score of 6-5 Tuesday evening.

NORSE NOTES 
  • McFadden-Ackman found himself in the mix of multiple crucial game-altering plays down the stretch, from scoring from third base on a sacrifice bunt, to providing what would be the game-winning home run in the top of the seventh inning. This was Liam's seventh career home run as well. 
  • Werrmann continued to provided excellent relief on the mound for the Norse, picking up his second win of the season, holding the Colonels hitless and runless through three innings.
  • Maniglia slammed the door on Eastern Kentucky iin 0.2 innings of relief to earn his first save of the season in his first appearance on the bump for Northern Kentucky.

Northern Kentucky Baseball now looks ahead to this weekend where the Norse will play their home opener of the 2023 season against Western Michigan beginning Friday, Feb. 24. Game one between NKU and the Broncos is scheduled for 2 PM ET from Friendship Field at the Bill Aker Baseball Campus in Highland Heights, Ky. The Norse will host Western Michigan for a three-game series that will run through Sunday, Feb. 26 as well.
