Baseball Sweeps Away Golden Grizzlies At Home

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky baseball program did not take the foot off the gas pedal Sunday afternoon, as the Norse stomped the Golden Grizzlies of Oakland 9-3 from the Bill Aker Baseball Complex, completing the Horizon League series sweep.

  • Echeman earned his fourth win of the season after shutting down the Oakland offense today, throwing 6.0 shutout innings. He went on to only allow five hits and two walks while totaling eight strikeouts. Echeman saw his earned run average drop to 3.60 on the year after today's outing as well. 
  • Fisher continued to stay hot as he extended his reached base streak out to 14 consecutive games. He leads the Norse in multi-RBI games as well with 13 overall and leads NKU in home runs with 10 after his two-run shot today against the Golden Grizzlies. 
  • Northern Kentucky has now won seven consecutive Horizon League games, which includes two series sweeps. The Norse have also won eight of their last nine games and look to keep their momentum rolling into the next week with road trips to Butler and Milwaukee on-deck.
