HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky softball program hosted in-state foe Kentucky in front of one of the largest crowds in NKU history at the Frank Ignatius Grein Softball Field on Tuesday evening.
The Norse battled hard through the opening innings but found themselves on the wrong side of a 9-0 decision in the clash of bluegrass institutions.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Norse were able to keep the Wildcats off the board until Kentucky broke through with a run in the top of the third to take a 1-0 lead.
- UK then turned it on in the top of the fifth with eight more runs to make it a 9-0 game.
- The Wildcats were able to turn the Norse away in the bottom of the fifth to seal the 9-0 non-conference victory.
