Baseball Sweeps Away Mastodons, Sets Program Record In Wins

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky baseball program completed the series sweep of the Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne Sunday afternoon in yet another offensive heavy game between the two, with the Norse coming out on top, 18-12.

NORSE NOTES
  • Northern Kentucky once again moves into first place in the Horizon League with a conference record of 15-6. The Norse are tied with arch rival Wright State for the top spot and these two programs square off next weekend from Dayton, Ohio in a three-game series. Game one between the Norse and Raiders is slated for Friday, May 3:00 PM (ET). 
  • The Norse have totaled 26 wins on the season now, which is a NKU Baseball program record for most victories in the NCAA Division I era dating back to 2017 (25-33). 
  • Both offenses from NKU and PFW put up ridiculous numbers in this series, including totaling a combined 89 runs and 94 hits. 
  • Kucera continues to stay hot and find ways to get on base, as he increased his streak to 17 consecutive games today.
