EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The Northern Kentucky men's soccer program was tripped up Tuesday evening in a non-conference road match against the Screaming Eagles of Southern Indiana from Evansville. The Norse fell to USI 3-2 in what would prove to be a very intense match from the opening kickoff.
THE BASICS
FINAL SCORE: Northern Kentucky – 2, Southern Indiana – 3

RECORDS: NKU: 1-3-3 (1-1-0 Horizon), USI: 1-6-0 (0-0-0 OVC)
MATCH BREAKDOWN
- Southern Indiana jumped on the scoreboard first in the 43' minute on a penalty kick to head into the break leading 1-0 over NKU.
- USI increased their lead to 2-0 in the '54 minute on a goal from Pablo Juan on the assist from Marky Lara.
- Southern Indiana's Fabrice Remy was issued his second yellow card of the match in the 55' minute to be sent off by the referee.
- The Norse were not done in this contest though, as freshman
Rashad Suhaiba scored a fantastic goal from distance to beat the opposing goalkeeper in the 70' minute. This was Suhaiba's first career collegiate goal as well.
- NKU then found an equalizer shortly after in the 75' minute as a header from
Simon Knuewe found the back of the net off the assist from
Ben Hegge. Knuewe has now scored twice this season and Hegge increased his assist total to four on the year.
- The Screaming Eagles netted the game-winner in the 78' minute however as Garland Hall scored to give USI the eventual victory.
