PITTSBURGH, Penn. — Northern Kentucky men's soccer took a break from Horizon League play on Tuesday for a midweek matchup with one of the best teams in the nation, as the Norse traveled to the Steel City for a non-conference match against #24 Duquesne.
The Norse battled to the finish, but fell to the Dukes in full time.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Northern Kentucky did not back down from the challenge of taking on the nation's #24 team on the road, with the box score reflecting an even battle.
- Total shots were even at 13-13, with Duquesne holding a 5-4 advantage in shots on goal.
- Steven Boaghe-Braniste, Tyler Murphy, Jacob Haskins, and Bennett Gerak provided the four shots on goal for NKU.
- Romeo Paparesta got his first start of the season in goal, making four saves. After allowing the game's only goal, Paparesta made a number of impressive saves to keep the deficit at one and give the Norse a chance.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Duquesne scored the game's lone goal in the 16th minute, and held NKU off the board for a 1-0 win.
