HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky baseball program sent their seniors off in style as the Norse recorded their second straight run-rule victory over Purdue Fort Wayne, this time by a 18-2 margin, in a Horizon League clash as the Bill Aker Baseball Complex on Sunday afternoon.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- It was a big day for the top of the order as seniors
Cleary Simpson and
Treyvin Moss paced the offense for NKU. Simpson went a perfect 2-for-2 with a game-best four RBI, two runs scored and three walks while Moss added a 3-for-5 effort with a home run, three RBI and two runs.

Tyler Shaneyfelt was also perfect at the plate with a 3-for-3 day with one RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases.
- Fellow seniors
John Odom and
Colton Kucera also had huge afternoons. Odom hit 2-for-4 with a homer, three RBI, two runs scored and a walk and Kucera chipped in a 1-for-2 outing that featured two RBI, a run and a base on balls.

Jake Paulick added a strong 1-for-3 day to go with one homer, three RBI, a game-best three runs scored, one steal and two bases on balls.
- Brenna Rowe went 2-for-4 at the dish with two RBI and one run scored.

Mitch Wood came around to score twice for the Norse off of two bases on balls.

Clay Brock posted his Horizon League leading seventh win of the year with five strong innings of work. He recorded five strikeouts to go with just seven hits and two earned runs allowed.
- Senior
Nick McClanahan closed things out with two scoreless frames. He stuck out five of the eight batters he faced.
- As a senior group, the Norse combined to go 11-for-22 (.500) with 13 RBI, 10 runs scored and five walks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Purdue Fort Wayne got the scoring started with two runs in the top of the first, but Northern Kentucky answered right back with six runs of their own to take a 6-2 edge.
- It was all the Norse from that point on as NKU dropped four runs in the bottom of the third, two in the fourth and another six in the sixth to close out the run-rule victory.

Northern Kentucky hits the road for its most important series of the regular season as the Norse take the short trip up to Dayton to take on conference rival Wright State in a three-game slate that gets underway on Thursday, May 16. First pitch is set for 3 PM ET.
