HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – It was a series opener to forget for the Northern Kentucky baseball program as the Norse found themselves on the wrong side of a 10-0, run-rule victory by Youngstown State in a Horizon League clash on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Youngstown State got on the board first with a run in the top of the second to take a 1-0 lead.
- The Penguins broke the game open in the middle innings with two runs in the top of the fourth, another in the fifth, two more in the sixth and four in the seventh to close out the 10-0 victory.
NEXT UP
The Norse will look to rebound in the second game of the series as Northern Kentucky and Youngstown State get right back to it on Saturday, May 4 at 1 PM ET. The day will feature NKU's Bark at the Park promotion and admission to the conference battle is free of charge.
