FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's and women's cross country ran in the Horizon League Championships on Saturday, with both teams eyeing a conference title. The Norse men recorded a fifth-place finish behind two top-five individual finishes from
Natnael Weldemichael and
Colton O'Hara, while the women finished seventh behind freshman
Maggie Foust's 12th-place finish.

NOTABLES - MEN

Natnael Weldemichael set a new personal record in the 8K with a blistering 23:47.5 finish, which earned him the silver medal. It marked the second-straight second-place finish for the senior, who did so at last year's Horizon League Championships.

Colton O'Hara finished in fifth with a 23:56.8 time, as he also earned a spot on the Horizon League First Team. The time also marked a personal record for the senior.

Stetson Childress finished third for the Norse, as he also set a new personal record with a time of 24:48.7, good for a 31st-place finish.
– Senior
Jacob Line finished just behind Childress, running a 24:53.0 and finishing in 34th overall.

Nathan Ruth was the Norse's fifth finisher, as he ran a 25:44.0, a 71st-place finish.
NOTABLES - WOMEN

Maggie Foust again paced the Norse, running a 21:32.5, good for a 12th-place finish. Foust was the third freshman to cross the finish line. Her run smashed her previous personal 6K best by over 40 seconds.

Brittany Arnold followed up Foust with a 22:06.2 time, a 32-second improvement over her previous 6K personal best. Arnold finished 27th among all runners.

Grace Biddle finished third for the Norse and 47th overall, finishing in 22:36.7.

Carlie Condit was the fourth Norse to cross the ending line, running a 22:46.2, marking a new personal best.

Kaitlyn Strange was just behind Condit, running a 22:47.4, a 57th-place finish, and a personal best.
