JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Northern Kentucky baseball looked to salvage the series on Saturday after dropping the first two games of 2025 at ETSU, but the Norse's comeback efforts fell short, and NKU fell to the Bucs.
NKU outhit the Bucs 6-5, but a late eighth inning rally from ETSU proved too much to overcome.

- Aaron Boster took the loss for NKU, throwing four innings and allowing three runs on four hirs and three walks. Boster struck out three batters as well.
- In relief, Noah Sackenheim and Bobby Bartlett combined to throw three scoreless innings with a combined five strikeouts.
- In the batter's box, the Norse were led by Tyler Shaneyfelt, who finished 2-4 with a run scored.
- Logen Devenport and Nolan Sparks each provided a spark with an RBI double, as both men finished 1-4.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Trailing 3-0 in the eighth, Logen Devenport doubled down the left field line to drive in Tyler Shaneyfelt and put the Norse on the board.
- Nolan Sparks delivered another RBI double down the left field line to drive in Devenport and bring NKU within one.
- ETSU plated three runs in the home eighth and held on for the win.
UP NEXT
- NKU takes on Dayton on Tuesday before opening up the home slate in a three game series with Bellarmine on Friday.
